Financial Fact or Fantasy

This quilt was made during the money crisis we had in the early years of EMU (European Monetary Union). Discussion on the proposals for the creation of a single currency was on the lips of everyone in Europe.

The background of this wallhanging this is made using triangles and the bottom half has a zipped pocket to 'collect' all the different currencies. It was made using satins, silks and cotton in turquoise and blue, with the monetry symbols appliquéd on. As you can see it was made before the new euro '€' symbol was agreed.
