Patchwork Waistcoat
This
is made using a commercial pattern for the shape of the waistcoat. The
front is made of different shades of brown linen, using the bargello method
of piecing. The difficulty was ensuring that there was a match between
the right and left sides. This waistcoat won the ‘James Lawlor’
trophy for excellence and the most appropriate use of patchwork in clothing.
The judge’s comment was ‘Excellently made and subtle enough
for the conservative man to wear’. |
